The Political War on Intelligence

The assault of peoples intelligence has hit an all time low during this presidential campaign. The candidates, particually on the republican side, ony hope the general population skim the top of the issues and only focus on well constructed, hard to argue with, catchphrases: Drill, Baby, Drill!, while never really addressing what that means below the surface.. Even worse, regardless of the issue, they try to make it seem Un American to disagree.. In fact if you do, you are probably an elitist, friends with the liberal media or even worse, intelligent. Intelligence is the new enemy. Painting our country into red vs blue, black vs white, conservative vs liberal and good vs evil sets us back 100 years. Good vs Evil only works in fantasy stories than contain a warrior named Thor. Reality is life isnt so black and white, the more aware and wise we become, we see its all actually a whole bunch of grey out there, outside of the obvious of course. To objectively take into consideration the american population one has to understand that each of our databases (our brains) are programmed with different shit so our perspectives on the world in general vary. Its not a matter of right vs wrong. For example Im pro life but would most likely never get an abortion (or push to).. the way this argument shapes up it seems like this should be a different category but that doesnt work for politicians.. they would prefer everyone to pick a side, build a wall and demonize the other side until they die. McCain has convinced middle america he is on their side and Sarah is one of them. Its the ultimate mind fuck. They preach the evils of bigger goverment while at the same time they want to make decisions for you on social issues while they tap your phones. And if you dont like it your unpatriotic.. that sounds like big goverment to me.. I just hope this time around people are intelligent enough to read between the lines and study the depth not just the surface of an issue. It's just too damn important this time.
